水是生命之源，是万事万物赖以生存的基础。长期以来，人们认为水是"取之不尽，用之不竭"的，没有意识到节约用水的重要性。事实上，全世界的淡水只占所有水资源7%，而可以饮用的淡水只有%，世界80个国家正面临着

我国人均水资源拥有量仅为世界平均水平的1/4，属于水资源紧缺的国家。目前全国2/3的大中城市面临缺水。在中国的北方，尤其是西北水资源奇缺，沙漠化、半沙漠化的趋势越来越明显，水危机已经严重制约了人类的可持续发展。济南市虽有泉城之誉，但也属水资源紧缺的城市之一，水资源不足始终困绕着美丽的泉城，节水保泉无时不牵动着每一个人的心。我国于XX年1月颁布新水法，明确规定"国家实行计划用水，厉行节约用水"。
为积极落实新水法，建设节约型校园，提高节水、保水意识，我们向全体教职员工和广大同学发出倡议：
一、充分认识节约用水的重要性和紧迫性，提高节水意识，大力宣传节约用水对国民经济建设及居民生活稳定的重要性，在
全院形成"节约用水光荣，浪费用水可耻"的良好氛围。
二、树立正确的用水观念、科学的用水态度和合理的用水方式，从我做起，从现在做起，身体力行，勤俭节约，杜绝"跑、冒、漏、滴"等现象的发生。
三、用水时避免大开水龙头，减少水的流量，要使用脸盆洗脸、洗手。用完水后要及时拧紧水龙头，避免长流水现象。
四、节约淋浴用水，缩短淋浴时间。坚持使用节水设备，鼓励职工对节水技术、节水器具进行研究改进。对于用水量较大的绿化及生活用水提倡一水多用，分质使用，将水耗降至最低。
五、依靠科学提高对水资源的充分、反复的利用率。
六、遇到有浪费水资源现象，及时制止;发现水管有漏水现象，及时向有关部门反映。
老师们、同学们，节约用水事关民族事业、国家前途和人类的发展。让我们积极行动起来，时时、处处、人人节约用水，积极开展节水活动，保护好水资源。

I am very glad to be here to enjoy some of my ideas with you. First of all, let me introduce myself to you. My name is .I was born in ____. I am from Class 82.I study hard in my class. I like English very much. This evening I want to enjoy how to save water.
As is known to all, there is only one globe in the world and water only exists on the earth. So water is very important for us. Without water there can be no life on earth. All animals and plants need water. Man also needs water. Although nearly 70 % of the earth's surface is covered with water, about 97% of this huge amount is sea water, or salt water. Man can only drink and use the other 3% -- the fresh water from rivers, lakes, underground, and other sources. And we cannot even use all of that because some of it is in the form of icebergs and glaciers . Even worse, one problem is that some of it has been polluted. Water pollution can be seen
everywhere. The other problem is our need for water is increasing rapidly. So water is in short.
Only if we do something to deal with this problem can we avoid a worldwide water shortage later on. A limited water supply would have a bad effect on agriculture, industry and our life. Let me give you just one small example of how necessary water is to industry. Did you know that to produce a single ton of steel, it takes about 91, 000 liters of waterAnd how about our schoolI can tell you about 30 tons a all have to learn how to stop wasting water. One of the first steps we should take is to develop ways of reusing it. Experiments have already been done in this field, but a small sum. What should we do to save water thenI think still have some ways to save water. Firstly, don’t pollute water, especially factories. Secondly, try to reuse water . It’s the most important way for us to save water. Thirdly, when we finish washing the clothes, we can use the water to clean the floor; At last, take shorter showers and don’t leave the tap running when we don’t need to use water. If we do not save water, the last drop of water will be our tear. To protect water is to protect our life.
